Dirk De Bruycker

December 11, 2014 - January 10, 2015 Boca Raton Gallery

BOCA RATON, Fla.—Rosenbaum Contemporary is presenting an opportunity to meet international Contemporary artist Dirk De Bruycker in conjunction with an exhibition of his paintings at the gallery. The artist reception will take place from 6 to 9 p.m. on Dec. 11 at the gallery’s Boca Raton location, 150 Yamato Road, in Boca Raton, Fla. The public is welcome and can RSVP at rsvp@rosenbaumcontemporary.com or by calling 561-994-9180 x203. The works will be on view through January 10, 2015. Regular gallery hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The artist, who was born in Ghent, Belgium, currently splits his time between Santa Fe, N.M. and Nicaragua. His paintings, made through a unique process that blends asphalt, cobalt drier, gesso and oil, are influenced by his setting.

“I think some of the intensity and sensuality of Latin America has crept into my work,” De Bruycker said. “The force of life here is so strong; it permeates everything—you can literally hear things grow. I think it is some of that intensity of life, which is very different from my cooler northern European sensibilities, that I have allowed to surface in the paintings.”

De Bruycker is a past recipient of a Visual Arts Fellowship Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts and a Visual Artists Work Grant from the Flemish Executive Department of Museums and Visual Arts. His work can be found in numerous public and private collections in Belgium and the United States including the Ministry of Visual Arts in Brussels, Belgium; the Museum of Fine Arts in Santa Fe, N.M.; the Bellagio Collection in Las Vegas, Nev.; and the Hallmark Collection in Kansas City, Mo.

Rosenbaum Contemporary, founded in 1979, caters to international collectors interested in investment-quality work by Postwar, Modern and Contemporary masters and presents nationally recognized museum-level exhibitions throughout the year. The gallery also offers a wide range of free services to collectors worldwide including acquisition advice, art consulting, sourcing of artists, art collection building and management and resale of select works of art.
